Any registered Nebraska voter can request a mail-in ballot.

Here is what you need to know:

• Request a ballot between now and October 23

• Download and complete the Nebraska Secretary of State Early Voting Ballot Application here

• You must physically sign the application. No digital or electronic signatures are accepted

• You can submit your completed application by mail, email, fax, or in person at the Butler County Election Office

You must include one of the following with your application:

• Your Nebraska Driver's License or State ID number

• A photocopy of another acceptable photo ID

• A completed Reasonable Impediment Certification (if you are unable to obtain a photo ID)

Once you receive your ballot, follow the instructions and return it by November 3.

State ID cards are free for all U.S. citizens in Nebraska

To apply for your free State ID you must bring:

• Proof of U.S. citizenship or lawful status (with name and date of birth)

• Two documents showing your principal address in Nebraska

• Your Social Security number or proof of exemption
